MD Dirt is currently performing reclamation and restoration work on Southport Pond to improve drainage and restore capacity.
Operations began with dewatering the basin to allow for excavation. Accumulated sediment is being removed, and the pond is being reshaped to restore proper depth and function.
Side slopes are being rebuilt and stabilized using ArmorMax turf reinforcement systems to provide long term erosion protection and support vegetation growth. Rip rap is being installed in designated areas to strengthen the basin and reduce future erosion.
Final grading and native seeding will complete the project and promote long-term stabilization.
